What is 1 :1 coaching? 1:1 online coaching, also known as online personal training is a form of fitness coaching that takes place virtually through online communication on Shiftandliftbylaura. I will be your personal coach and design you a custom fitness plan based on your goals, fitness level and preferences alongside a personal nutritional food guidance plan for your goals. Plus, continuous support and weekly check ins. One of the main advantages of 1:1 online coaching is that it offers flexibility and convenience as you can access your workouts and coaching sessions from anywhere and at any time! Additionally, it may be more affordable than in-person personal training.

I'm a beginner, will this be suitable for me? Yes, when I create your plan, I'll keep in mind both your level of experience and your goals. I work with beginners to advanced lifters. Upon sign up, you'll be required to complete a questionnaire; this will provide me with all the information I need to design your plan. If you're a beginner, I'm going to ensure you achieve fantastic results in the quickest possible time and eliminate the guesswork. If you're an advanced lifter/athlete, then I'm going to ensure I take your training and knowledge to the next level.

What should I expect from Shift and Lift online coaching?  1 to 1 online fitness coaching is like having a personal trainer who is always with you, but instead of meeting them at the gym, you get to work with them from the comfort of your own home! It’s a form of fitness coaching that takes place virtually through online communication, it’s like having a personal trainer in your pocket who helps you achieve your health and fitness goals! You get to have someone who is knowledgeable, supportive, and encouraging, guiding you through your workouts and holding you accountable for your progress. I will create a personalised workout plan just for you, based on your goals, fitness level, and preferences. Also providing feedback on your form, give you tips and tricks to make exercises more effective, and cheer you on as you crush your goals!

How long will it need to see results? The time it takes to see results when trying to lose weight can vary greatly depending on several factors, including your starting weight, body composition, diet, exercise routine, and overall lifestyle. While it is possible to see some initial changes within a few weeks, sustainable and healthy weight loss typically occurs over a longer period of time. A safe and effective rate of weight loss is generally considered to be 1-2 pounds (0.5-1 kg) per week. This rate allows for gradual and sustainable progress while minimizing the risk of muscle loss and other negative health effects. Keep in mind that weight loss is not solely determined by fat loss. Initially, you may experience a rapid decrease in water weight, which can contribute to noticeable changes on the scale. However, fat loss takes more time. As you continue to follow a balanced diet and exercise regularly, you should start to see a gradual reduction in body fat over time. It's important to approach weight loss as a long-term commitment and focus on making sustainable lifestyle changes rather than relying on quick fixes or crash diets. A combination of healthy eating, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, and stress management will not only aid in weight loss but also contribute to overall well-being. Remember that individual results can vary, so it's essential to be patient and consistent.

Do I need to know my goal before? During your first check ins I will ensure your goal is right for you. Often alot of female clients want to lose weight when actually they need body recomposition (lose fat and build muscle) to effectively do this depending on your current physique, fat amount we will start in a calorie deficit to trim the fat percentage down and then start to build into a calorie surplus. Eating in a surplus alongside lifting weights, hitting your step targets, eating your protein target and enough sleep is the building blocks for gaining muscle. So ladies, when you say you want a flat stomach and a peach, this is what we’ve got to do to get there! And I will be right by your side every step of the way!

How much are the plans? 1:1 bespoke coaching plans are tailored to the individual and start from £75 a month for Nutrition only and from £125 for a full exercise and nutrition plan.

Do I need to have a gym membership? No! If you are unable to go to the gym or don’t want to go to the gym that is absolutely fine. Progress can still be made to help you reach your goals. All plans are bespoke and I will ensure they are within your ability, cater for any existing injuries and incorporate any home equipment that you may have or decide to purchase once you start. Shift and Lift plans can be altered and changed along the way!
