In December 2022, I founded Shift and Lift with a clear mission: to empower busy individuals and shift workers to transform their lives without restriction. My inspiration came from my own struggle in 2016 when I gained 3 stone in a year, I tried and failed restrictive diets that wasn’t sustainable, this left me overweight and unhappy. I needed direction, to know how to balance my Nursing shifts, when to exercise and how to fit everything it into my busy schedule. I wanted to create a plan that would make the journey as fun, simple and stress free as possible and that is exactly what Shift and Lift does. 

 

I pride myself on being caring and compassionate, I have been a registered NHS nurse for over 4 years and ensure my nursing qualities are reflected through my coaching. I prioritise my client's health and ensure they achieve their goal in the safest way possible whilst ensuring a positive relationship with food and teaching you a lifestyle that allows maintainable and lasting results so you will never have to diet again. Hello, I'm Rachel, a personal trainer with three years of experience, and I've been leading fitness classes for five years. My journey into the world of exercise began after the birth of my second child, during which I gained weight. I lost touch with myself, dreading social events and feeling like I had lost touch with myself as anything other than a mum. Unhappy with my appearance, I decided to prioritize self-care as my 30th birthday approached.

 

Despite being new to exercise, I quickly fell in love with the positive impact it had on both my confidence and my appreciation for my body. Exercise also really helped with the anxiety I had struggled with since childhood.

 

 

Motivated by my transformative experience, I decided to share my journey with others, aiming to inspire individuals, particularly fellow mothers, to prioritize their well-being for the first time.

 

I had been following Laura for some time, drawn to her as an fantastic role model. I felt a personal connection with her weight loss journey and, most importantly, resonated with her approach of promoting the enjoyment of real, non-restrictive meals while still achieving fitness goals. I consider myself fortunate to work alongside Laura, a fantastic and genuine coach who always has her Clients best interest at heart.

I transitioned from a career as a lead vocalist on cruise ships & embarked on a new journey when COVID hit, earning Level 2 fitness instructor & Level 3 personal trainer qualifications. I set up my own fitness company & taught online live workouts for people to do in the comfort of their own home during the pandemic, which I’m still doing now 3 years later!

 

I then decided to go into online coaching. Balancing my love for performing on the side, I've been passionate about guiding & inspiring individuals to embrace healthier choices, drawing from my background as a performer to bring energy into my fitness coaching!

 

Throughout my years of training to become a professional singer, dancer, actress. It was all about body imagine, looking a certain way to get the job & I have struggled for a lot of years with how I’ve looked. Not being ‘skinny’ enough, lean enough… the list goes on.

From starting my own fitness journey I have realised that it’s about being healthy, strong, but lost importantly happy! 

This is where Laura & I share the same values! Cheering for healthy weight loss without those crazy diets, building a community & genuinely loving to help people achieve their fitness goals & enjoy the journey.

I am passionate about ensuring Laura's strategic goals are met and I am responsible for the flow of operations information to the business. Being Laura's step dad, this has been an immensely proud achievement and to have been part of the success has made it a wonderful experience, being able to guide and mentor Laura to ensure she can maximise her opportunities has been a very proud time of my life and she continues to amaze me as the business goes from strength to strength!!
